With the 2010 biodiversity target, world leaders committed themselves to ‘significantly reduce biodiversity loss by 2010’. The target has also been recognized as an intermediate step to achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The aim of the session is to stimulate further action towards the 2010 biodiversity target and discuss innovative thinking and ideas. Speakers • Mr Djoghlaf, Executive Secretary, UNCBD • Mr P.
