Towards a new governance of high seas biodiversity
Monaco From 20th of March 2008 to 21st of March 2008
Principauté de Monaco
As a global public good par excellence, the high seas and their resources currently appear under increasing threat from the intensity and variety of human pressures exerted on them.

Organised by the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), the seminar “Towards a new governance of high seas biodiversity” (Monaco, March 20-21 2008) aims to foster interaction between the different disciplines involved and bring together high-level international experts with a view to precisely examining the possible perspectives for better governance of biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction.

This event is organised in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the French Agency on Marine Protected Areas, the French Global Environmental Facility and with the collaboration of the Maritime and Oceanic Law Centre (University of Nantes).
