Climate Change and (Forced) Migration

Poznan 06th of December 2008
Poland

This session will present the outcomes of the first global scoping project on environmental change and migration, sponsored under the EC 6th Framework Program. The case studies find a clear environmental signal in current migration patterns, and urge the scientific and policy community to devote more effort to understanding the dynamics of migration in the face of climate change.

François Gemenne will present a comunication called "Is environmental migration happening? Empirical findings from Central Asia, Asia, and the Pacific Islands".
