Trade, Urbanization and the Environment

By : Laurence Tubiana
Beijing (China) From 28th of October 2009 to 30th of October 2009

This event is part of a series of Future Environmental Trends Conferences internationally, jointly organized by the Veolia Environment Institute with academic partners (here the Center for Human and Economic Development Studies of Peking University).

The conference will explore the interactions of both trade and urbanization processes with environmental protection imperatives. It will focus in particular on the case of China. China is experiencing extremely major transitions: an accelerated economic growth, a rapid urbanization, while dealing with environmental resources that are threatened and unevenly distributed.

Laurence Tubiana will discuss the "The Euro-Asia cooperation. Reinforcing the dialogue and implementing coordinated actions".
