Laure Criqui is a specialist in international urban development. She has been working at IDDRI since 2016 on issues and tools for intervention in developing cities: access to essential services (water and sanitation), tensions between informal urbanization and planning, the potential of digital tools for governance in Southern cities, and more generally international debates around the New Urban Agenda.
Laure holds a doctorate in spatial planning and urban planning from the University of Paris-Est (LATTS); her thesis deals with the extension of electricity, water and sanitation networks in the precarious neighborhoods of Delhi and Lima. Before she worked for 4 years at the French Embassy in Morocco and for international cooperation projects of the French Ministry of Sustainable Development.
Laure is president of the Projection network (young professionals in essential services); she is a member of the associations AdP-Villes en développement, N-Aerus de recherche européenne sur l' urbanisation au Sud, and of the think tank (Re)sources. She teaches at the IEP in Rennes and Paris.
