Noura Bakkour is Special Assistant to the Director, working closely alongside Laurence Tubiana.

Prior to coming to IDDRI, Noura worked as a consultant, focusing on international climate change negotiations. As program manager at the Earth Institute, she helped launch the Master of Development Practice (MDP) program at Columbia University. Noura also worked at Conservation International, as the coordinator for two departments focusing on biodiversity conservation, synthesis and assessment. Noura also served as Communications Associate at the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, developing and implementing social media strategies and coordinating external communications, including press events, media inquiries, and press releases. Noura also interned at the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Climate Initiative and at the NY Mayor’s Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability.

Noura holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgetown University and a Master of Public Administration in environmental science and policy from Columbia University.
