Xin Wang is the focal point for IDDRI’s partnership and networking with China.
He obtained on 3 December 2015 the "Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches" (HDR) in Economics which is the highest French national title after Ph.D which allows to supervise officially Ph.D thesis in French universities and research centers.
He is specialised in economic and political aspects of environment, energy, climate change, development and international trade issues, with a particular focus on China and EU-China relations.
He is Editor of the Climate Policy Journal. He is associated researcher of EconomiX of CNRS and Paris-Nanterre University.
He published several publications in well-ranked academic journals such as Climate Policy, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, etc. He is editor of Advances in Climate Change Research (Editor-in-Chief: Dr. Qin Dahe), a multidisciplinary academic journal held by the China Meteorology Administration.
Ph.D in economics, Xin Wang received the Best Ph.D Thesis Award for Abroad Chinese Students from the Central Chinese Government in 2012 for his thesis "An economic and political assessment of carbon pricing in China" conducted during 2008-2011.
Xin Wang holds two master degrees on environmental economics and history of economic thoughts. Xin Wang is research associate at the Department of Economic Forecasting of the State Information Center of China, and Research Center for Climate and Energy Finance of the Central University of Finance and Economics of China. He participates in several task forces at the Chinese Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). He is also member of the Sino-French Experts Dialogue on Climate Change, a regular dialogue held by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Government.
