Dolf Gielen

Dolf Gielen is a Senior Energy Analyst working in the Energy Technology and R&D Office of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris since 2002. His main task is to advise the IEA member governments regarding energy technology policies. At this moment he is coordinating the IEA activities in the field of industrial energy efficiency in the framework of the G8 Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development. Also he is managing the forthcoming Energy Technology Perspectives 2008 analysis of the Agency. Dr Gielen studied Chemical Engineering at the Technical University Eindhoven and Environmental Sciences at Utrecht University. He has a PhD from the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands. From 1992 till 2000 he worked for the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN). From 200 to 2002 he stayed as a visiting scientist at the Japanese National Institute for Environmental Sciences (NIES). Dolf Gielen is author of five IEA books and has written more than 50 peer reviewed scientific papers.
