Jean-Pierre Cling

Currently director of DIAL (Développement et Insertion Internationale) a centre of economic research specializing in developing countries, based in Paris. He held posts in Southern Africa (South Africa and Zimbabwe) on behalf of the French ministry of Finance between 1994 and 1999. He is the co-editor of a book on "The New International Poverty Reduction Strategies" (recently published by Economica in Paris in February 2002), the author of a book on "From isolation to integration: the post-apartheid South African economy", published in French (2000) and English (2001), and the author of various articles on trade and development issues. He graduated from ENSAE-Paris (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique). He obtained a Masters in "Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences" from Paris University.
