Americo Beviglia-Zampetti

Americo Beviglia Zampetti is working in the Investment Policies Section of UNCTAD since May 2001, and is mainly dealing with trade and investment policy issues, as well as contributing to the preparation of the World Investment Report. He previously worked for the Economic Research Department of Italian Institute for Foreign Trade, the Trade Directorate of the OECD and the Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission, where he was desk officer working on the relations between the European Union and the United States and later responsible for trade and development issues in the WTO context and co-ordinator for OECD affairs within the Commission; he also served as European Commission’s representative to the WTO Committee on Trade and Development and to the OECD Trade Committee Working Party. Americo Beviglia Zampetti studied political sciences at the University of Rome; he received an MA in international economics and international relations from The Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C. and obtained his Doctorate in Social Sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. In 1999-2000 he was Fulbright Research Scholar at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has published a number of articles in the area of trade and investment policy.
