Kristian Weise

Kristian Weise is Policy Research Officer at the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions. Much of his work is focused on the interrelations between employment, labour standards, international trade and development, and directed by the institutional evolution of the main institutions of global governance – the WTO, the IMF and the World Bank. Prior to joining the ICFTU, Kristian Weise worked in the European Parliament as a Political Adviser to Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, MEP, President of the Party of European Socialists (PES) and a former Prime Minister of Denmark. Reforms of the global governance system, international economic policy, and development were among the dominant issues of this work. Before working at the European and international level, Kristian Weise, among other things, worked at the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy at CBS, Copenhagen Business School, served as Chairman of the Board of Samfundslitteratur, Denmark’s main publisher of academic literature within the social sciences, and took, through various positions, part in the governance structure of CBS, Copenhagen Business School. Kristian Weise, a Danish citizen, holds a BSc in Philosophy and Economics from CBS, Copenhagen Business School and an MSc in Political Sociology from LSE, the London School of Economics and Political Science.
