Laurent Mermet was trained both in ecology (Ecole Normale Supérieure) and in management sciences (Ph.D. from Université Paris-Dauphine). He is a Professor of environmental management at ENGREF-AgroParisTech, where he also presides the Social Science, Economics and Management Department. His research deals with the strategic analysis of environmental management, environmental negotiations, and future studies theories and methodologies. Laurent is the Chair of the Scientific Board, French National Research Program "Concertation, Decision-making and the Environment", and presided the Aarhus Convention Task Force on Public Participation in International Forums.
