Marianne Kettunen

Marianne Kettunen (MSc) is a policy analyst working at the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) in Brussels. She is specialised in issues related to sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity, including international and EU policy/legal frameworks for biodiversity conservation. During her career Marianne has been involved in a number of research initiatives ranging from sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity in the context of international development cooperation to research projects supporting the development of EU biodiversity policy. Marianne’s main current research interests lie in improving the integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services into EU and national policy and decision-making. She is the leading author of the recent IEEP publication on the value of biodiversity (Kettunen & ten Brink. 2006.
