Urvashi Narain is a Senior Environmental Economist and co-team leader of the new Environment Strategy. Urvashi joined the World Bank two years ago to work on the Economics of Adaptation to Climate Change Study. With Sergio Margulis, she co-lead the global track of the study to develop a conceptually-well-grounded estimate of the total cost of adaptation to climate change for developing countries. Prior to joining the World Bank, Urvashi worked as a researcher at a Washington-DC-based think tank, Resources for the Future, where her research interests ranged from economics of air quality, to clean development mechanism, to poverty and environment nexus at the household level. Urvashi has a Ph.D. in environmental economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
