Joint Research Project "Carbon-constrained scenarios": Full and final report

This report provides the results of the study entitled "Carbon-Constrained scenarios" that was funded by FONDDRI from 2004 to 2008.

It provides the results of the different scenarios computed in the course of the
project. It is a partial synthesis of the work that has been accomplished and of the numerous
exchanges that this study has induced between modellers and stakeholders.
The first part was written in April 2007 and describes the first reference scenario and the first
mitigation scenario designed to achieve stabilization at 450 ppm CO₂ at the end of the 21st
century.

The second part of the report was written in September 2008. After the first two scenarios, it
was agreed to investigate the simulation of a “non-mimetic” scenario, which would take into
consideration significant shifts or mutations in the development styles and in land planning.
