Frédéric Amiel joined IDDRI in 2017 to conduct studies on the link between global economic models and biodiversity loss. He is particularly interested in the impact of the global value chain of tropical agricultural products on deforestation, such as cocoa or palm oil.
Before he joined IDDRI, Frédéric worked for ten years with non-governmental organizations, including campaigning at Greenpeace on deforestation and climate change issues, and advocacy at Emmaus France. He holds a master's degree in sociology and political anthropology (Paris 7) and a master's degree in integrated territorial planning (Museum of Natural History, Montpellier 2).
