Julien Rochette heads Iddri's Ocean programme. 
His most recent activities focus on the governance of high seas biodiversity, the regulation of maritime extractive industries and the integration of marine issues into other international regimes. 
Beyond UN negotiations and discussions, Julien has been involved for several years in regional ocean governance, including in the Mediterranean, Western Africa and the Western Indian Ocean. 
Julien holds a PhD in public law (University of Nantes) and public international law (University of Milan), and is a member of the scientific committee of the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM). He regularly lectures at several French universities (Sciences po, Nantes, Paris V).
