The ecological transition is an inevitable next step, a goal to be achieved, but one we are finding difficult to attain. As for the digital transition, it is one of the major transformative forces in our society. How can we today put this potential for transformation towards the benefit of the ecological transition? What courses of action can be proposed to public actors to make the digital transition an accelerator of the ecological transition?

IDDRI, Fing, WWF, GreenIT.fr, with the support of CNNum have formulated 26 practical proposals, gathered together in the “Digital Technology and Environment” white paper, intended for public actors to:

  • Reduce the ecological footprint of digital technology
  • Use digital technology to better design green policies
  • Steer innovation towards research for major impacts
  • Mobilize the potential of data for ecological transition

This “Digital Technology and Environment” white paper will be presented and debated on Monday 19 March 2018 in the presence of Brune Poirson and Mounir Mahjoubi.
