Against a backdrop of intense geopolitical challenges, wars, and tensions, the French G7 presidency had defined three priorities: global macroeconomic imbalances, partnerships, and growth. Following the summit held in Évian in June, has progress been made on these issues? And did environmental and energy transition issues manage to gain traction, even as certain terms—such as “climate”—have become taboo under U.S. influence? But reality does not disappear with words, so that dependence on fossil fuels, natural disasters, and critical raw materials are all key issues that needed to be addressed .
