Internship report carried out within the Climate Division of the French Development Agency from 3 June to 3 December 2018 under the supervision of Michel Colombier (IDDRI) and Stéphane His (AFD).

This report focuses first on the methodological issues that structure the debate around methane, before questioning mitigation solutions in strategic development sectors and in some countries where the French Development Agency operates. The opportunities envisaged systematically offer sufficient co-benefits in various areas of development not only for climate change mitigation, but as real climate-smart responses to countries' ambitions in strategic sectors of their economies (agriculture, energy, waste).
