The conference, which gathered a thousand participants, scientists, and economic and political actors, aimed to provide food for thought for policy and decision makers involved with 2010 horizon biodiversity challenges. Several themes were discussed: dynamics of biodiversity; tools and methods for assessing change; the social impacts of these changes; biodiversity governance (IDDRI was responsible for organizing debates on the latter).
