The year 2022 saw the conclusion of COP27 for climate, organized in November in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), and of COP15 for biodiversity, held in Montreal (Canada) in December.

While COP27 made some important progress on finance and relations between the the North and the South, COP15 resulted in the Kunming-Montreal agreement which establishes a new global framework for the protection of biodiversity.

How can these advances be implemented now and over the coming months? What obstacles remain? What challenges do we face?

The Canadian Embassy and IDDRI co-host a public conversation on Wednesday, January 25, from 7:15 to 8:30 pm, with a welcome cocktail at 6:30 pm at the Auditorium of the Canadian Cultural Centre, 130, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris 8e.

With:

  • Catherine Stewart, Canadian Ambassador for Climate Change
  • Sylvie Lemmet, French Ambassador for the Environment
  • Stéphane Dion, Canadian Ambassador and Special Envoy to the European Union and Europe
  • Moderation: Sébastien Treyer, Director General of IDDRI
