Seminar series on Sustainable development and environmental economics

At Reid Hall - from 12.30 to 2.30 pm

The disaster that hit Japan on March 11th, 2011, has had a profound and transformative effect on the Japanese society, and has triggered a chain of impacts that are still felt today.
The DEVAST Project, conducted jointly by the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Waseda University and IDDRI-Sciences Po, is one of the few projects to study the social and political consequences of the catastrophe. Reiko Hasegawa (Research fellow in charge of the field research for the Devast project at IDDRI-Sciences Po) and François Gemenne (Devast Project Coordinator) will present the main results of field research conducted over several months in the areas directly affected by the disaster.

Please note that some of the presentations at the seminar will be conducted in French.
