The Institut du Développement Durable et des Relations Internationales (IDDRI) and the Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) have begun a new project the European Dialogue on the Energy & Climate Challenge (the European Dialogue) to assist in the development of an integrated EU energy, climate change, and finance strategy building upon the recent European Commission proposals on energy and post-2012 climate change. The project will bring together senior energy, climate, and finance policymakers from the European Commission, EU Member States, industry, non-governmental organizations, and academic/think tanks. The first meeting of the Dialogue will be held at the end of March in Madrid, Spain and subsequent meetings will be held through the end of 2008.
