IDDRI and the Institut Mobilités en Transition [have partnered] to better equip decision-makers and public actors wishing to propose sustainable mobility policies. Better anticipating social risks and building the legitimacy of transition policies requires specific work that combines technical considerations with a variety of social science analyses. To this end, an original analysis grid is proposed, enabling social impact studies to be conducted upstream of a public mobility policy project. It combines several aspects relating to the challenges of designing public policy; the material conditions for its implementation and its integration into different lifestyles; the context of political interpretation and perception; the sources of fragility in the social contract, and more specifically the mobility pact; the role of citizen participation and what is known as procedural justice (equity in decision-making processes).
