Carole-Anne Sénit is a French researcher and PhD candidate at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University, under the supervision of Prof. Frank Biermann and Dr. Agni Kalfagianni. She is also a research fellow of the Earth System Governance Project, a global transdisciplinary research network in the area of governance and global environmental change. Carole-Anne’s interest lies in global democracy, civil society participation and influence in sustainable development negotiations. Her work has appeared in international peer-reviewed journals including Global Governance and Global Policy. During her PhD, Carole-Anne was a visiting student at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Carole-Anne worked as a research fellow at Sciences Po’s Centre for Political Research (Cevipof) and IDDRI. She holds a 5-year integrated MSc in Political Science and Sustainable Development from Sciences Po Paris.
