Géraldine Galvaing is a Senior Research Fellow on international marine policy. She works on various aspects of marine policy and ocean governance and contributes to the coordination of a sustainable marine and coastal tourism project.

Before joining IDDRI Géraldine worked at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) as senior coordinator of the inclusive blue economy team. Prior to that she worked on issues relating to food and agriculture at the international, national and local levels as coordinator of IIED’s Agroecology team, for IFAD in Niger, at the UK Food Group in London, the AEIDL in Belgium and at Focus on the Global South in India.

Géraldine graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) with an MSc in Development Studies.

She speaks French, English and Spanish.
