Mariam Fofana is a research fellow in international biodiversity governance, actively involved in studying development trajectories for the sustainable use of biodiversity.
Before joining IDDRI, Mariam worked at the OECD as a consultant and policy analyst in the "Water Governance and Circular Economy" unit. In the scope of her activities, she explored governance models tailored for water resource management, preservation, and resilience of marine ecosystems, and the development of circular strategies. Additionally, as an advisor, she investigated ways to tackle urban pollution within the office of the Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of the ecological transition, Climate Plan, water, and energy.
Mariam holds a master's degree in the History of International Relations from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a master's degree in Territorial Management and Local
Development, specializing in economic analysis and risk management at Paris-Saclay.
