A symposium organized by IDDRI and its partners at the 2015 Congress of the European Ecological Federation, entitled “Ecology at the Interface”, was held at the Rome Congress Centre, 21-25 September 2015.
The symposium, introduced by Aleksandar Rankovic, included a presentation by Yann Laurans entitled “Economists and ecologists as contributors in multi-dimensional decision-making processes”.

Ecology is, more than ever, linked to a rising number of highly diverse environmental issues. This symposium will be dedicated to explore a double interface for ecology. How can collaborations with social scientists help ecologists understand the context in which their research is involved and define their objectives in environmental policy arenas? How can this help outline more relevant strategies for ecology to better contribute to environmental conservation?
