The Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR) is a United Nations publication that aims to strengthen the science-policy interface and support the work of the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). Following the adoption of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September 2015, this forum is now the main “universal” political platform to carry the 2030 Agenda and provide guidance for the effective implementation of SDGs.

In this context, the role of the GSDR could prove decisive for increasing the exchanges between scientists and policy makers and for developing viable and sustainable policy responses to meet the objectives of this international agenda. Intending to gather together scattered information and scientific assessments and, through an open process, to promote the expression of the international scientific community and other key development actors, the GSDR is presented as an assessment of assessments and as an instrument to support the SDGs.

This event is dedicated to the presentation of the report as well as an introductory reflection on its development process and on the exchanges between scientists and decision makers for achieving the SDGs.

Conference organized by ICSU, IDDRI, IRD, UNDESA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI).
