Laurence Tubiana will participate in the the Hong Kong roundtable, a preparatory event for Washington, focusing on gathering international experience on climate change policy and action and exploring political obstacles to an international agreement to tackle climate change.
This event is organised by the Stern Team at the UK Office of Climate Change.

Scope will include:
- Identifying the crucial elements of the structure of the arguments for the Washington Symposium and scrutinizing the robustness of its logics;
- Exploring the international experience to bring to the Washington symposium, particularly case study examples on policy and action;
- Exploring and understanding what political obstacles need to be tackled, particularly in the US, for the reciprocal positions of key countries to a global deal;
-To table and identify further background material for the Washington meeting (reading lists, case studies, policy briefing etc) supporting all of the above.
