La baisse de l'aide publique au développement est le sujet de notre nouvel épisode.
Official development assistance (ODA) is falling at a staggering rate. Europe had begun quietly to reduce its contribution as early as 2024, but with Trump’s return, US aid evaporated overnight, and by 2025, global aid had fallen by 23%.
In this episode of IDDRI’s podcast, Élise Dufief analyzes the impacts of this slump in ODA – on health, education and the climate – and examines the ongoing debates and proposed solutions. Mutually beneficial partnerships, bilateral agreements, private-sector investment, and the role of public development banks: these are all avenues and challenges to be considered when designing new multilateral approaches to tackling poverty and other development issues. Élise Dufief answers questions from Sophie Larmoyer.
