This workshop, which focuses on improving the way SDGs are taken into account in budgetary processes, is co-organized by IDDRI and the General Commission on Sustainable Development (CGDD). As the main political and economic expression of government policy, the budget appears to be a natural starting point for SDG integration. In fact, the conclusions of the Interministerial Committee for Cooperation and Development propose the revision of budget performance indicators in relation to the SDGs. Similarly, several countries have started to link the SDGs with their national budgets. What lessons can France draw from these attempts? How could France use SDGs to make its budget more coherent and sustainable?
