Presentation
This book questions and explores the diversity of strategies needed at different levels—genetics, agricultural practices, public policy, trade, finance—to transform agricultural and food systems in a sustainable way in the face of climate change. It highlights the urgent need for systemic changes to bring about real transformation and anticipate change (evolution of dominant agricultural models, re-territorialisation, adaptation of food systems, reduction of losses, etc.) and the need to adapt these changes to bioclimatic, socio-economic and political contexts.
Bringing together nearly 150 scientists from the North and South, this book highlights the central role of research in addressing one of the greatest challenges of our time.

Extract (of the conclusion)
At the international level, mistrust and conflict continue to grow between the South and the North, and between the West and the East. The space for cooperation seems to be shrinking, but financing the economy and the climate remains one of the issues on which cooperation and solidarity continue to feature on the agenda of international meetings, from the G20 to the COP climate conferences. Scientific cooperation between countries on these issues is therefore essential to support and maintain this vital thread of dialogue, particularly on trade and investment rules, so that each country can finance its own transformation pathway.
