Deep Decarbonization Pathways

Logo DDP

Keeping global warming well below +2°C requires immediate changes, through choices that will lead economies towards a carbon-neutral world by the second half of the century. What is needed is known, the challenge therefore lies in determining how to do it, and what is the necessary sequence of actions. Countries, cities, and industries need to put in place strategies to achieve development that are compatible with climate change global targets.

The Deep Decarbonization Pathways is an initiative led by IDDRI that aims at helping those actors in that respect. It is a global network of in-country experts who propose realistic pathways to deep decarbonization. In 2023, the DDP network is active in 35 countries on all continents. Its work is based on a transparent common methodology to inform both science and policy and is based on the principles of being country-driven, country-led, and country-owned.
