Dr. Ritu Mathur is Associate Director for the Energy Environment Policy Division in TERI.
She has a Masters in Business Economics from the Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi.
Ms Mathur has received training on the use of various modelling and analytical tools such as the MEDEES-ENV model at the Asian Institute of Technology (Bangkok), the IEA-MARKAL model at the Energy Centre of Netherlands and Generalised Algebraic Modeling Systems (GAMS) at Kyoto University, Japan. She has used these tools for developing national and sectoral level energy models at TERI for examining the prospects of future energy use patterns and their implications on the economy and environment.
She has handled several projects related with formulating India’s technology vision for the future, energy pricing, studying the environmental aspects of energy use, estimating and analysing the effects of alternative energy use patterns for the country in terms of the economic and environmental impacts
using various modelling frameworks, conducting financial and socio-economic analysis of various projects directed at environmental improvement and provision of energy etc.
Ms Mathur held the post of Secretary, Indian Association for Energy and Environmental Economics from 1995 till 2001.
