"Today, a growing number of public, private, national, and international players are mobilizing to finance the fight against climate change. In Copenhagen, 2009, industrialized countries committed themselves to mobilizing 100 billion dollars by 2020 to assist developing countries in their fight against climate change. The Green Climate Fund, created at the end of 2010 and operational since then, is on its way to becoming an important source of funding for global action on climate. However, the existing funds do not cover the totality of the needs, and mobilizing new resources and redirecting the flow of financing toward low-carbon emission and resilient investments constitute major challenges in international climate negotiations."
