"The conference will address two main questions:
- To what extent could regional States adopt a similar approach to the formulation of offshore safety legislation and regulation? Could the EU Directive on offshore safety serve as a model in this regard?
- What is the potential for regional cooperation in the field of offshore safety and how could it be taken forward, including in the areas of legislation, capacity building, emergency preparedness and response plans, and knowledge and experience sharing platforms?"
