"Recent research has convincingly demonstrated that the likely impacts of unmitigated climate change largely exceed the costs of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, global action remains elusive due to a failure to incentivize collective action. This workshop explores the idea that climate measures are more likely to be adopted if they are framed in a broader holistic context that regards them not exclusively from the perspective of internalizing an environmental externality, but also takes into account interactions with notions of welfare and prosperity and implications for welfare states and public finance."
