Ove Hoegh-Guldberg is the Director of the Global Change Institute (www.gci.uq.edu.au) and Professor of Marine Science at the University of Queensland in Brisbane (Australia). His research has focused on understanding the impacts of climate change for life in the ocean, with he and his team being among the first to identify the serious threat of climate change for coral reefs in the 1990s. He was the coordinating lead author for the regional oceans chapter for the latest UN IPCC Assessment report (2014). He is a member of the Australian Academy of Science and has been recognised with a number of awards for his work.
