The first expert workshop of The Ocean Solutions Initiative will be held in Monaco from 22 to 24 November.

Assuming its full and timely implementation, the Paris Agreement will enable to “avoid the unmanageable” but it is also important to “manage the unavoidable”, that is the ocean changes and their impacts which are inevitable. Led by the AMAO (Association Monegasque pour l’Acidification des Océans) and supported by IDDRI, The Ocean Solutions Initiative will seek define the solution space. Gathering a group of 15 international experts (Canada, France, Germany, The Netherlands, New Caledonia, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom and USA), it will assess ocean-based solutions to climate change as well as the benefits and drawbacks for the ocean of land- and atmosphere-based solutions.
